Rock a denim skirt all year round.
It's 2017 and I'm still flirting with denim skirts. Let's face it - denim is the style staple of society. Regardless of brand, color, cut or style everyone wears denim. Why? Because it's easy. Although denim skirts are trendier at certain times over others, they're truly seasonless and never fully go out of style. Good news for the ladies hoarding their high school micro-minis, never escaping the cringe-worthy times when jean mini-skirts and Uggs were regrettably "a thing". Denim skirts are an easy piece to slide into and quickly create a cool outfit. Finally, it's time to take the tags off those tops you bought - the ones you didn't need, claimed you would "find something to wear it with", yet never wore.
I styled my high-waisted dark grey denim skirt with a striped grey turtleneck. I paired my look with colored tights since the weather has been pretty cold lately and black combat boots, topping it all off with a black shaggy faux fur jacket. The grey-scale of my outfit allowed the tights to really stand out, although the outfit would have looked equally as good with a neutral pair of tights. I put this outfit together quickly with little to no thought besides the weather. Denim skirts can be worn with tights during colder times and can also be worn in the heat with sandals and a light top.
Denim skirts go with everything, and I mean everything - even a denim top. There's a variety of styles such as the mini, micro-mini and maxi just to name a few. They're easily paired with basics or something a little more complicated (think prints) and don't give off the same everyday casual vibe as jeans. They're versatile and can elevate your style in seconds. Shop my look and the ultimate denim skirt edit below!
